It behoves us to say the least how Adamawa state has in a time span of 5 years has transformed from beigna peaceful state to a crime central hub.
Mubi, Ganye and Mayo Belwa have at several times been attacked by unknown gunmen to say the least.
Inspite of this , my attention wa drawn t a very funny incident that caught my rapt attention today.
While commuting along the Vunoklang bridge ( Hayin Gada) i noticed that vehicles journeying from Girei & FUTY towwards Jimeta took to the same side of the bridge as those going towards Girei. The bridges was built for dual carriage with a demarcation to seperate those going to and fro. however that was not the case today.
I was later to realise that one of the trucks belonging to the Sate Governor's agricultural schemes had just hit a traffic lamp post on the bridge and so the route had to be blocked in order for repairs to take place with such urgency as though a child needing urgent medical attention. On top of it, Security forces where ther to guard the situation!!
The irony was that all this happened during the same time the populace where rushing to get home in order to meet the 7pm curfew deadline imposed on the state. The blockage created a traffic hold up which slowed down movement.
Question is for those whom the 7pm deadline gest them on that same route shoudl they be pardoned for beign delayed by the tractor which needed urgent medical attention or should they be casted as non-law abiding citizens?
