In continuation of the military crackdown against the Boko Haram
sect, the Yobe State government this afternoon declared a dusk-to-dawn
curfew in observance of military operations following President Goodluck
Jonathan's declaration of a State of Emergency in three states.
In a statement issued on behalf of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam by his
Special Adviser on Media, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, the government said
that the curfew would commence from 6pm to 6am daily throughout the
state.
The statement which did not specify the length of the curfew urged
citizens of the state to comply and cooperate with all military
personnel towards successful resolution of the Boko Haram insurgency.
