Meet Fidelis Joseph The Young "Van Goh" of North Eastern Nigeria !!!

for those whose history is still a bit soggy like mine, here is a little fresher on Van Goh according to wikipedia.

"Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. He died aged 37 .His work was then known to only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still"

Well that was about 35 years ago. Fast forward to 2013, in the North Easter part of Nigeria  Adamawa state precisely. Despite the fact that The state is tagged the least developed state in Nigeria, it is definitely not the least developed in regards to talent and skilful youth.

Enter Fidelis Joseph a fresh graduate of Fine arts from The Federal College of Education Yola (FCE, Yola) who despite the economic chaos in the state has determined  to nurse ambition to cotinue in his first love, painting.

While many youth chase after lucrative and instantly high paying careers in white collar industries, Fide (as he is fondly called) prefers the sweaty and sometimes messy world of oil colour, poster colour, pastel, miral and canvas.
A proverb i read once said "when your work speaks for you...shut up" take a look for yourself and you will agree that this guy is from the mental lineage of some of the greats like Michaelangelo, Leonardo da vinci, Vincent Van Goh et al. But wait...

Before you nod your head and click away to another gossip story, you should know that Fidelis has intentions of furthering to a higher institution of learning . Now if this is anything to go i then this is a leader in the making. I do this out of a belief in this young man and without his know;edge am i doing this.

HE might be the next best thing to emerge out of the north-east region. SO here is a clarion call to the big boys and girls who know how to put there money where there mouth is, the philanthropist  the erst while investors and "well meaning Nigerian" if you are looking for a field to invest, here is a very fertile ground Fidelis Joseph.

I am not saying he is sick or dying. Noo... far from that.

He has a dream, to further his education and become an asset to his state and generation and you can be a part of that. all you have to do is give him a call, place an order for a painting or buy an existing one and he  will be one step closer to his academic dream. That will be a lot better that throwing all that money to someone who just sits under a tree and speak about how many white cars passed by.

Fidelis can be contacted on facebook. click here

Hookup Tv is all about celebrating young and creative North Eastern minds. He is one of such . Do the right thing.
Much Love
