Photos: Aliyu Usman aka Prince ALi of HOD wake keep
It was an emotional moment as friends and family thronged to the International Praise cathedral, Jambutu Yola for the wake keep/service of songs of Pioneer Gospel Dancer Aliyu Usman (Prince Ali).
The event kicked of at 4:20pm with the praise makers leading the songs.
Several individuals and groups rendered various melodies in tribute to the late icon amongst them were Stine P, Chrystabel (Ali's sister), Praise Dancers and the Praise makers. In attendance were Some of Yola's finest creative, musicians, dancers, and clergy including Rev. Dennis Gereng, Rev. Papa Jalo, Rev. Godwin Ngasony.
The epic moment came when a video tribute was played on the big screen showcasing a flash back of Ali's life and times as a member of the Iconic dance crew HOD.
remarks were made by family members and Julius Sunday the president of the H.O.D. who was supported by members of various crews including Fred of Oxygen Dance academy and Gideon who was also involved in the same accident but mustered strength to come.
The family member who made the remark gave an epic speech with the words
"The manner in which Ali died is not our (family) concern but our concern s on where he is right now. and we celebrate that/"
Powerful words there.
