I had been listening to Martino El-casino’s recent single
titled “Yanna wawu”(download here) and had it on repeat for about two months
since its release and I was so amazed at the speed, accuracy and sensibility of
the Yola-based rappers ability to knit lyrics not to even mention the track’s
mix down.
However my days was drawn to a close when a rap critic friend
of mine played a similar track belonging to American rapper Twist which he titled
“Kill us all” download here.
Both songs have similar instrumentals and from the publish
date, Twista released his song first which means Martino-Elcasino sampled the
beat.
However, the question on y mind is who rocked it better. It
may have to do with the fact that I heard the hausa version first but then the
chorus blended in more accurately for me, the use of hausa to match the peat
pace was unmatched.
Could this be a sign that our own home based singers are
actually ready to take on the international scene? The other day Saidu Xsem remixed Gangnam style.
I am waiting to see anyone try Adele..lolz
Dear hookup Tv readers please tell us who do you think
rocked the beats better Martino or Twista?
