An unidentified woman residing at the Police barracks Jimeta abandoned a new born baby boy in a reservoir after covering him up with a wrapper.
The baby who was unable to move swallowed a lot of the dirt infested water and died soon afterwards. It was not long before dogs started feasting on the corpse of the baby there by eating up his hands and legs.
According to sources, the mother of the baby was impregnated by a man from river state and after delivery decided to abandon the baby to the fate of the elements. Eye witness say she ran into a cage which was prepared for animals and was later caught at about 4pm.

ReplyDeleteit is really sad..it must be some very young teenager or pre teenager..who was mortified to keep the baby..for fear of retribution...knowing how our culture is with single young girls and babies, and how they are stigmatised..dont they have a safe drop off in Yola where u can anonymously drop ur child??
